October 5, 2008
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Sunday. I hope you are having a safe and great weekend while doing something to make a memory for yourself.

I ended up not sleeping very well last night and was up and down for most of it. I think I finally fell asleep around 4am and did not climb out of bed until around 11am this morning. I am still being restricted on how much I am allowed to do so I have to keep the nurses and doctors happy while still trying to enjoy every day. It was a beautiful day outside so I try to get out there as much as I could.

I have received requests from PFLAG and GLBT Heroes for interviews and I just finished having a piece done on me by AARP/Divided We Fail. I am not sure when the piece by AARP/DWF is going to be released and/or published but will let you know when I find out. I am just glad I am able to somehow help others in my community by sharing my life's story. It is also a great personal reward when I see someone who is still HIV negative "get it" when I talk about HIV and AIDS. That look that tells me they will probably never have unprotected sex until they feel they are in a committed monogamous relationship whatever their sexual orientation might happen to be.

Sunday is pro football day so resting in front of the television made up most of my easy afternoon. The first game I watched was the San Diego Chargers against the Miami Dolphins. Then I watched the Cincinnati Bengals against the Dallas Cowboys. Both were excellent games with great offense and defense. Also like any good game there was a close score and a couple of turnovers.

I know times are hard for all of us with the way the economy has turned out. So I would like to share some website that might help you save some money on purchases you might need to make.

Priceprotectr.com helps you get money back if items you bought have dropped in price. Register your purchases, and e-mails will arrive when the prices have fallen. Claim the cash with an e-mail, phone call, or store visit.

Gasbuddy.com and gaspricewatch.com track the cheapest gas stations by area. Plug in your destination to find the best places for filling up.

Retailmenot.com amasses coupon codes for discounts at 15,000 online merchants. After you enter the e-tailer's Web address, you will get a code to receive your price break. Go mobile with cellfire.com, a site that lets you access coupons on your cell phone. Then you show the code on your tiny screen when you are at checkout.

Thegrocerygame.com (cost: $10 for two months) provides a weekly list of the lowest-priced products at your favorite supermarket, matched up with manufacturers' coupons and specials to save even more. You can pay extra to sign up for multiple grocery stores.

Honesty.com lets you know how much things usually go for on eBay and what's currently for sale there, so you don't overpay when you buy. Type in an item name for price comparisons on current and recent eBay listings.

Pricespider.com and wishradar.com hunt online for the items you want at the most you're willing to pay. Create a wish list and the most you'd spend for each purchase. Then the sites search for the products, e-mailing you when they turn up your desired price or less.

Bookingbuddy.com consolidates many travel sites to get you low airfares, hotels, car rentals, and vacation packages with a targeted search. Enter details of your trip once, and then click on the names of the Websites you want Bookingbuddy to search from Expedia to Priceline.

Overstock.com and Smartbargains.com - both have multiple categories of items listed. Sign up for their emails to get special discounts and sales notices.

So I hope I helped save you some bucks since the holiday season will be here before we know it.

I hope you had a great weekend and did something special just for you. Remember to live in the moment during this next week.

Wishing you health, hope and happiness.

Big bear hug,

Daddy Dab
