Today is Sunday. I can tell I got too much sun at St. Augustine's Pride event, but it feels good in a way. It reminds me of growing up in Pensacola, Florida and the weekends that we would spend at my grandparents' beach house. You'd run around like crazy in the surf and beach as a kid until you came inside and passed out from exhaustion. I also have special memories of listening to the surf while falling asleep at night. But nothing compared with the sunrises and sunset with the soung of the surf combined for the perfect moments in time.
Coming from a close family, the holiday weekends would also include the extended family members... uncles, aunts, cousins up to 30 total.
Most of them are gone now... just one more sign that I'm a "mature" adult now... notice I didn't say OLD... even as I head toward 50, I'm just glad to still be here. Only three of my friends from the 80s are still alive today.
Wishing all of you a great week. Remember to take a few moments for yourself. Life is not a dress rehearsal.
Big bear hug,
