Hey there! Thanks for stopping by to see what is going on in another day of Daddy Dab's life.
It was another extremely busy day today. I had to be up early so I would have plenty of time to wake up and get ready to catch the bus at 8:30am. After catching the P7 bus, I headed to BCCC for the patient advisory board meeting which was followed by our project monthly meeting. Unfortunately Heather, Alice and Walter were unable to attend due to their jobs which is always a problem with having a meeting during the work week. It is almost impossible for everyone to make all the meetings because most of us work full time jobs. The meeting ended up being just three people and the three main players were unable to attend. So we will be having another meeting in a couple of weeks. I did get a chance to speak briefly with Alice and told her the information I needed to get from the co-chairs. I also told her I would be seeing her tonight for the ROSE support group meeting.
Then it was time to ride the P7 bus back to my home in Riverside. I was so tired by the time I got home all I wanted to do was go to sleep but I had several things to get done before I could afford that luxury. There were calls to return and emails to answer. I found out today that AARP/Divided We Fail is doing a brief story on me and my activism in their next issue. They also asked if they could do a feature story in the next few months which of course I agreed to doing. They also asked me to email a picture of myself for the story which I did after getting off the phone with them. I also had to speak with Lindsey about issues with Divided We Fail and AARP. I will write more about that discussion in the next few days. After taking the dogs outside, I was finally able to get a nap for a couple of hours.
Then it was time to wake up and get ready for The ROSE women's support group meeting at BCCC. As one of their sponsors, I try to make at least one meeting a month. Terri picked me up around 4:30pm and we headed in rush hour traffic to BCCC. It was great seeing everyone since I had not been to a meeting in almost two months. I always have a great time with my girls and wanted to get caught up with what is going on in their lives. We had a good session and I ended up being the main speaker.
Then it was finally time to get Terri to drive me home. Gary was on the couch since he has not been feeling well all day with sinusitis. I know exactly how it feels. My head and face have been swollen and hurting all day as he has also been doing. I was hungry but did not feel like cooking so I put a frozen pizza in the oven for an easy, quick meal.
This is going to be a short entry today so I can get some much needed rest soon. But I hope you had a great day also.
Wishing you health, hope and happiness.
big bear hug,
