Pain in the Mouth
Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Monday and I hope you had a safe and great weekend. It was another busy one for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.
Yesterday, Dab the AIDS Bear participated in the AIDS Walks in Wisconsin and Oklahoma. Thanks to all of you who came up to have your picture taken with Dab the AIDS Bear in support of people living with HIV and AIDS. Pictures and slide shows will be posted in a blog soon.
Then it was time to head back to South Florida for some rest and relaxation. I did have one bad development over the weekend. I have a horrendous toothache. So I am going to try and get into see the dentist today. I was scheduled to have this tooth fixed in October but it can not wait any longer. So keep your fingers crossed for me.
Then I will probably be resting the rest of the day and spending time with my four legged children. I need to get my energy built back up since we are having an HIV expo here in Fort Lauderdale this weekend at Pride Center of Equality Park.
I did read some interesting news about National Institute of Health. NIH Awards $2.5 Million to Study Latent HIV.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has announced Eric M. Verdin, MD, as the winner of the Avant-Garde Award for HIV/AIDS Research, according to an NIH statement. Verdinís research will focus on developing new technology to explain how HIV latency is established and maintained and how it becomes reactivated. The goal is to eliminate latent HIV infection. The award grants Verdin, of the J. David Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco, $500,000 per year for five years.
Something to thing about and possibly participate if you are in those areas.
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
big bear hug,
