Thanks for stopping by and checking out what is going on in my life this weekend. I hope you are doing something memorable for yourself this weekend also.
I actually had a good night's sleep last night which is rare. My legs and head were not bothering me much and Gary did not snore which is very rare. So I was able to get a sound night of sleep. Gary was up before me taking care of the house and the dogs. I rolled out of bed around 10am this morning. The weather was still in the 60s outside and I really enjoyed the lower temperatures when I went out in our courtyard to wake up. It is so nice to go outside and not be sweating profusely within five minutes. Fall and Spring with temperatures with highs in the mid to upper 60s and night in the low 50s is perfect weather to me.
Gary and I sat around talking for awhile and decided to get our grocery shopping done at Publix. I was hoping we would avoid the crowds but Publix was packed when we arrived. After only getting enough food for about 6 dinners and a couple of snacks, we walked out with two backpacks (which we use instead of paper or plastic) of food costing us around $100. Now the same amount of food would have cost around $75 just two years ago so I am still getting over the sticker shock which I am sure is getting ready to get much worse. I also ran into a friend from First Coast Chorus, Ken, whom I had not seen in awhile. We gave it other a hug and a quick hello. Then Gary and I rode our bicycles back to the house and unloaded our goodies.
We were watching the Florida/Ole Miss game until halftime when we decided to go play pool up at Park Place for a change of pace since neither of us have been to a bar in over a year. Plus we knew they would be playing the game since it is a neighborhood pub. So after catching a quick cab to the pub, we ended up playing four rounds of pool with us both winning twice. It had been so long since I had shot pool and I was definitely rusty. There were only about six people in the pub so it was nice almost having the place to ourselves. We got to watch the end of the Florida/Ole Miss game with Florida blowing it in the final seconds and losing 21 - 20. Then we headed back for home where we watched the Michigan/Wisconsin where Michigan won in the last quarter which surprised everyone. They had been behind over twenty points at halftime. Tonight we are watching the Alabama/Georgia game as I am typing this blog entry. The game is at the end of the first quarter with Alabama ahead 10 - 0. I will probably be going to bed before this game is over and will have to check the final score in the morning.
I hope you had a great day also and did something you enjoyed for yourself.
Wishing you health, hope and happiness.
Big bear hug,
