Waitress Paid a Cancer Patient's Tab
and Left a Moving Note

Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Thursday and I hope you are having a beary safe and great week so far. Dab the AIDS Bear, Jared and I are spending our week getting back together after the bear and Jared were on deployment with the US Army.

While I know people do good things for others, it seems we hear more much about the bad things in life. So today I thought I would blog about a heartwarming story I heard recently about a waitress and a cancer patient.

Daniela Bossi, a 17-year-old high school senior and waitress at a New Jersey pizzareia, just left a customer a heartfelt note (and some free food) for "putting up the biggest fight," NJ.com reports.

Rick and Annette Lewallen decided to go out for dinner one night at Brother's Pizza. They'd been doing their best to save since April, when Rick was diagnosed with brain cancer and they were focusing on paying various medical bills. So they were touched when Bossi, a family friend, told them the meal was on the house. (See the pic on today's blog)

"For putting up the biggest fight, this one is on me," the note reads, along with a heart. It's signed, "With great love," and a note pointing to "Brother's Pizza."

"It was a vote for humanity,'' Annette Lewallen told NJ.com. "I've finally stopped crying about it." She's shared the note on social media, and it's since gone viral. Bossi said she didn't even realize the gesture was such a big deal. She did it because she's known the Lewallen's for years, because one of their children is best friends with Bossi's sister. "I did it because their family has always been there for my little sister"; she said.

"It's not often you hear about someone so young doing something with so much heart,'' said Pasquale Carannante, one of the owners. "I'm very proud." The pizzeria has since reimbursed Bossi for her kindness.

Maybe this story has inspired you to do a random act of kindness for someone today!

Hope you have a beary safe and great Thursday!

Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.

big bear hug,
