Welcome to another day in my life. Today is Tuesday and I hope you are having a safe and great week so far. It is another busy week for Dab the AIDS Bear and me.
Unless you were hiding under a rock, you had to hear about Clint Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention recently. So today I am going to blog about the subject.
Actor/director Clint Eastwood was revealed as the mystery guest speaker at the Republican National Convention on Thursday, stepping on stage to deliver a unique speech.
Along with showing support for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, the 82-year-old tough guy also spoke about the current presidential administration by addressing an empty chair that he told the crowd was occupied by President Barack Obama.
His gag of talking to an empty chair inspired a Twitter account named @InvisibleObama that had garnered more than 25,000 followers before midnight Thursday.
The Obama campaign immediately shot back on Twitter Thursday night with a photo of the President sitting in a chair in the White House. It read, referring to Eastwood's empty chair, "This seat's taken."
CNN's Piers Morgan told the Hollywood Reporter that "He came off like the slightly crazy uncle at the Christmas party who’s had one too many sherries and doesn’t quite get it."
Romney’s spokeswoman told Piers Morgan backstage, "He's an American icon. You can't look at him at through the same political lens that you would other politicians. He's Clint Eastwood."
Democrat Kirstie Alley tweeted, "I just saw Clint Eastwood's speech and I LOVED it!! Funny as hell & on point!!"
Eastwood is starring in the upcoming baseball drama "Trouble with the Curve,” popping up in theaters September 21.
So now we have a new term in American called Eastwooding. Nothing like ended your life looking like a fool. Hopefully, I can avoid making the same mistake.
Hope you have a beary safe and great Tuesday!
Until we meet again; here's wishing you health, hope, happiness and just enough.
